Case Study: MINIFOIL C52 - extrusion coating and counter-rotating extruder

Today we present the MiniFoil C52, a tailor-made laboratory machine designed to reproduce the PVC and TPO extrusion coating process on a small scale.

This line has various additional components that allow our customers to achieve the desired results and film properties:

  • Horizontal Flat Die allows precise control of film thickness;
  • Three Rolls Vertical Calander with independent thermoregulation for each roll;
  • Counter-Rotating Twin-Screw Extruder to process PVC and TPO;
  • Extrusion Coating System to create laminated films with several materials;
  • SB-Dry Volumetric Dosing Unit to allow the perfect material flow;
  • Edge Trimming System to align the edges and save excess material;

Originally designed for PVC processing, this line offers exceptional versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of engineering thermoplastics and elastomers. A prime example is TPO, which benefits significantly from the counter-rotating twin-screw extruder when used in extrusion coating with textiles or fibers.

This laboratory machine is suitable for a wide range of applications, from the production of automotive components (interior panels, underbody) to products for construction (flooring membranes and composite panels), packaging (blister packs, thermoforming), and the medical sector (sterile devices).
